Awesome!

Today was a great day, got a lot done. It’s actually starting to feel like I might get this thing done. Today I got the balance shaft, timing set, oil pick-up and lifters installed. Also surfaced, built and bolted on the heads. I just ordered the tuning software, TwEECER RT.

Getting closer..

I got the TwEECer tuning program a few days ago, looks awesome so far. Today we got the new pushrods (7.150”) and finished setting up the valve train. I’m going to run the stock rockers for now, it’s an easy swap later on. We installed the timing cover, water pump, oil pump and oil pan. The engine is pretty much done minus the balancer/crank hub and I’m waiting on the valve cover gasket kit. It’s to the point where we can put it in the car after I get the engine bay painted and get a clutch. Here are the latest pictures.

YEAH!

Done with school and moved back to my car. I have been up until at least 2am for the last 3 nights working on the Mustang. All I really have to do to get it started is bolt in the driveshaft and make a fuel return line. A few of the things that I completed since I’ve moved home are getting the heat exchanger and fan mounted, made a elbow to connect the blower to the intake plenum until I can get all the piping installed which I am expecting to be quite a challenge. The elbow looks terrible and I hope you all just forget you ever saw it! I made the temporary plenum loop just to get up and running, I will be running un-intercooled just until I get the piping figured out. The intercooler is getting the mounting mocked up (another challenge). I got a few other little things wrapped up like finishing the throttle cable, running vacuum lines, installed a boost gauge and reworked my gauge pod,  wired in the HE fan, got the intake assembled and installed. I’m sure there’s more, but you get the idea. Here are pictures.

So my car decided that the build was going a little too well. First of all the Mustang A/C line will not fit with the new jackshaft bracket and a new one will run about $185. I think we can make a new one with what we got. Second, when I installed the PCM in the car the anti-theft system was activated, so I have to figure out whats going on there. All in all the project is moving along, just very slow due to me being in school again. I received the short throw shifter from AmericanMuscle.com today and it looks pretty awesome. I will order the water to air intercooler kit fairly soon along with a universal piping kit. I have a list taped to the Stang's windshield and it is now less than one page long!
