UPDATE:

Project V6KR is VERY close to starting! This weekend I got the new TPS wired in and got the IAT sensor wires ran to be spliced into the MAF. I am using the the IAT from the SC T-bird, the sensor is right before the intake manifold (after intercooler) so the intake charge temp will be more accurate. I got the 02 Mustang CAI to fit with the new intake, it needs to be trimmed, but it will work for now.

Need to start list: Cut and refit plug wires, spark plugs, fill fluids, throttle cable, loop blower to intake plenum, connect fuel lines, A/C delete pulley, finish vacuum lines, o2 sensors and harness extensions and that’s about it…

Keep checking back, first start coming soon!!!

Withdraw deadline

The cut off for withdrawing without suffering scorn is Saturday, April 2nd at noon. If you aren't going to make it to this year's event and you are on the start list notify one of us via email, phone or PM before then.
A post on this blog or other website is not enough.
We will continue to fill vacancies with riders on reserve up until that deadline. After that, our start list will be set and we will expect you to show up rain or shine.

The start has moved this year to Mississippi National Golf links. More details to follow on what this means to you.

Holy Crap!

So it has been forever since I have done anything to my Mustang. Today I made a little bit of progress. I got my Tweecer RT drivers updated to run on my new laptop with Windows 7 (64-Bit). I just looked up an ordered my A/C delete kit, I decided this would be way easier than plumbing a custom system (for now). If you have been following my posts, I previously said that my no start was due to the PATS, but it is actually a tune corruption between the PCM and Tweecer module, now that I got the new computer this should be an easy fix. Besides repeating what I already have several time I will let you read past posts to see what work still needs to be done. That's all for now, I cannot wait for the snow to melt and temp to rise so I can start posting some starting/running and dyno pictures/videos!!! Keep checking back on project "V6KR"!!!

TIME FOR TALKING TURKEY

You might wonder, while staring at your thinning desk calendar, where the heck summer and September went, not to mention our so-called Tax Freedom Day.
As thoughts turn to talking turkey – yummy birds, not stuffed politico peeps trying to overspend our way to Third World status – we also wonder if the Canucks, Lions and VANOC are next to do Cialis commercials to get up for the big games ahead.
We wonder if governor-turned-author Sarah Palin will have success with Going Rogue, her new book that contains small words and big pictures. And you betcha, crayons and a map of porches where you can see Russia on a good night are optional.
Michael Moore, who had great success with Sicko, Farenheit 9/11 and Bowling for Columbine, is now filling theatres with Capitalism: A Love Story that depicts corporate greed. The popcorn and pop only costs $30 to see this flick about our profit-over-people mentality.
Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff wants another federal election, meaning about five people in this country now feel the same way. Come to think of it, that’s about the same number wanting more spent on bike lanes, transit studies and councillor salaries.
Anyways, by request, here is the My Two Bits freakin’ fall quiz to bring you up-to-speed on the issues that sort of matter:
* Rio de Janeiro, the home of bronzed bodies and tiny bikinis, has been awarded the 2016 Summer Olympics despite a Chicago bid that included pitches from Oprah Winfrey and Barack Obama. The first thing organizers in Brazil must worry about is:
a.) When to introduce the HST.
b.) When to start chirping “On time, on budget.”
c.) When to start slashing budgets for education, health care and social programs.
* The B.C. Liberals, the “caring party” that’s breaking all the promises used to secure your vote last May, is now busy defending cuts to school sports programs while drooling over Olympic athletes. Your thoughts:
a.) Mellow Mike de Jong used to go absolutely bonkers about this flip-flop tripe before drinking the Campbell Kool-Aid.
b.) Wasn’t the Olympic “legacy” supposed to encourage youth to become involved in sports?
c.) Did Premier Gordon Campbell decide this while imitating Nickelback in Hawaii?
* With Halloween just three weeks away, your post-turkey thoughts will turn to coming up with novel costume ideas. You might consider:
a.) Dressing up as an AHL arena, so politicians throw gobs of money at you.
b.) Dressing up as David Letterman or Bill Clinton, ’cuz interns dig it.
c.) Dressing up as an Olympic “windfall” so you can turn invisible while screaming “Do you believe?”
* You’re thinking of buying a new Thanksgiving T-shirt that describes a bit of your personality. You’ve narrowed it down to:
a.) I’m not your type, I’m not inflatable.
b.) I am having an out-of-money experience.
c.) When blonds have more fun, do they know it?
* Aussie golfer Greg (The Shark) Norman and former tennis star Chris Evert have split after just 15 months into their high-profile marriage. Other ew-inducing “couples” you’d like to see split ASAP include:
a.) Gordon Campbell and Colin Hansen.
b.) Michael Jackson and shameless media.
c.) The Olympics and our wallets.
* After a lengthy spell of downsizing, rightsizing, tax hikes, job losses, cutbacks, whatever, many Canadian credit cards are maxed. Your situation is best described as:
a.) My card got stolen, but the thief spent less than my spouse so I didn’t report it.
b.) Things are so bad I got a pre-declined card in the mail.
c.) I’ve got all the money I’ll ever need if I die by 4 p.m.

Some Details on the Race Day for those who are wondering

On race day (April 18th!) registration will open at 6:30 am in Colville Park in Red Wing, MN. The main parking lot area will be where we convene. The official starting line will be the Dog Poop sign again. I think that there was a port-a-potty style bathroom at the start last year, but not certain

The start of the race will be 7:30 am sharp.

The First Checkpoint will be at roughly the halfway mark. The same park in Zumbro Falls will be the meeting area. There will be outside support allowed at this point, and this point only! This is a change from last year. The second checkpoint will not allow outside support. If you are not checked in at the Zumbro Falls checkpoint by 2:30 pm you will not get the second half course tulip notes.

There will be another checkpoint along the way with about 25 miles to go. This one is for our own sanity so we know where people are on the course. NO outside help or support will be allowed here.

The race will finish at the same place that the race started. Colvill Park. You must be at the finish line (dog poop sign again) by 7:30 to complete the race officially.

Here are the towns you will go through and what you can expect to see in the way of amenities:

Red Wing (start and finish) - hotels, gas stations, etc. No gas stations or convenience stores are on the route until the last mile or so. Also has a hospital, Peebles store and (2) Subways for some reason.

Zumbro Falls (Checkpoint 1) - two convenience stores and a couple of bars that may provide a decent burger

Millville - no stores or bathrooms or parks are on the course or even in Millville

Lake City - a convenience store will be on the route, there are also fast food opportunities a few blocks off the course and we'll be rolling right past a medical center.

There will be at least 55 or so miles without easy refueling so be prepared with enough water and food. The weather last year was about freezing and WINDY. Brutal. The week before it was about 70 and sunny. Could be warmer, could be rainy... could be snowing... BE PREPARED! You are responsible for you.

More reports from out on the course tomorrow probably.

Introducing KOM!

Rules: You are responsible for you! Know your limits. Have an escape. The only outside assistance you can receive is in Zumbro Falls (half way check point). You will be disqualified if you receive help outside of the checkpoint. We ask that no cars follow your rider, if you do the rider will be disqualified. You have 12 hours to complete the race. Start is 7:30 am and for you that can't compute, that means 7:30 pm is your end time. Checkpoint cutoffs will be 1:00 in Zumbro Falls, 4:00 in Lake City and 7:30 in Red Wing. And you are responsible for yourself! You are on public open roads, follow the rules, stay to the right when coming to the top of a hill or on blind spots. You are in rural MN you might run across hillbillies or any other mostly intoxicated drivers. To be extra safe, have a rear red light and a small flashing front light. Once again you are responsible for yourself.

Registration: Registration opens at 6:30 and closes at 7:15. Plan well, the race will start with or without you. ONLY REGISTERED RIDERS WILL BE GIVEN CUE SHEETS!
